Lost or delayed luggage

Do this at DPS before you exit — a claim is far harder to open afterwards.

Go to your airline's baggage desk in the baggage hall
Bring your bag tag and boarding pass and ask for a written property irregularity report (PIR) with a reference number.

Give an address they can actually deliver to
Your hotel or villa name, full address and a phone number that will work in Indonesia.

Photograph everything
The PIR, your tag and the contents list. Your travel insurance will ask for all three.

Buy only what you genuinely need
Keep the receipts — most policies reimburse essentials while a bag is delayed, within limits.
