Watch out for these
Bali is not a dangerous place. These are simply the situations that catch travellers out, and each one takes a second to avoid.
"Red zones" — not a scam
Near some temples, beach clubs and central Ubud, local transport cooperatives block app pickups. If Grab or Gojek shows no drivers, or your driver asks you to walk 200 metres to meet them, that is normal local practice — not someone trying to trick you.
Where to go if it happens
Tourist Police handle foreigners reporting theft or a dispute, and they are the ones who produce the report your insurer will ask for.
